December 27, 2016 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. —Mark 1:1 The opening verses of Mark’s gospel are not exactly “Christmassy.”  While Matthew and Luke give details about the birth of Christ, and John opens with the eternality of Christ (1:1) and that He “became flesh and dwelt among us” (1:14), Mark is curiously silent about the incarnation.  Why is that?  I confess, I do not know why the Holy Spirit...
